Serves: 12

Ingredients

  • 1 Kilo ground beef
  • 1 Kilo ground pork
  • 1 cup raisins
  • 2 cups green peas
  • 2 onion minced
  • 1 bulb minced garlic
  • 2 tomato – diced
  • 6 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 4 tsp soy sauce
  • 6 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • Banana saba (sliced & fried)
  • Eggs – Sunny side up
  • steamed white rice
  • Salt and ground black pepper to taste

Method

  1. Before beginning, make sure that the rice is cooking because this recipe is much better with warm rice.
  2. In a large pan, sauté onion until they become translucent, garlic until they are light brown, and tomato until the juices come out.
  3. When the tomato gets a little mushy, add the ground pork and beef and cook for around 6 minutes.
  4. Mix in the tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, and raisins. Stir until all ingredients are blended well together. Simmer until all the liquid ingredients have evaporated.
  5. Add the green peas. Cook in low heat until green peas soften.
  6. Cook sunny side up eggs. It would be good to cook extra eggs for extra servings later.
  7. Best served with rice, topped with sunny side up egg and a few pieces of fried banana saba.
  8. We like to use a large bowl when serving a smaller family gathering (like a rice bowl). But when I am hosting a large family gathering, I usually plate all the elements separately in different containers but group them together in the table, so everyone can decide how much of it they want on their plate.
