Serves: 12
Ingredients
- 1 Kilo ground beef
- 1 Kilo ground pork
- 1 cup raisins
- 2 cups green peas
- 2 onion minced
- 1 bulb minced garlic
- 2 tomato – diced
- 6 tablespoons tomato paste
- 4 tsp soy sauce
- 6 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- Banana saba (sliced & fried)
- Eggs – Sunny side up
- steamed white rice
- Salt and ground black pepper to taste
Method
- Before beginning, make sure that the rice is cooking because this recipe is much better with warm rice.
- In a large pan, sauté onion until they become translucent, garlic until they are light brown, and tomato until the juices come out.
- When the tomato gets a little mushy, add the ground pork and beef and cook for around 6 minutes.
- Mix in the tomato paste, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, and raisins. Stir until all ingredients are blended well together. Simmer until all the liquid ingredients have evaporated.
- Add the green peas. Cook in low heat until green peas soften.
- Cook sunny side up eggs. It would be good to cook extra eggs for extra servings later.
- Best served with rice, topped with sunny side up egg and a few pieces of fried banana saba.
- We like to use a large bowl when serving a smaller family gathering (like a rice bowl). But when I am hosting a large family gathering, I usually plate all the elements separately in different containers but group them together in the table, so everyone can decide how much of it they want on their plate.
